How 700 Carolina Panthers Fans Filled The Pools At The Jaguars’ Stadium

If you watched the Panthers vs. Jaguars game last weekend, you may have noticed all of the Panthers fans hanging out in the pools at the Jaguars’ stadium. I was one of them.

Me and about 700 Carolina Panthers fans made the trip down to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Sept. 13 season opener against the Jags. The Roaring Riot, a group of die-hard Carolina Panthers fans across the world came in full force.

The highlights:

– When your Uber driver casually mentions where the Panthers are staying, you make sure you go there and create your own meet and greet. Yes, I did that.

The tailgate started bright and early Sunday. You could hear “Sweet Caroline” being sung loud and clear from Lot X .

The looks on the Jags fans’ faces as we paraded into the stadium and headed to the cabanas was priceless.

“Where did all these Panthers fans come from?” I overheard someone say.

The Highlights:

– When your Uber driver casually mentions where the Panthers are staying, you make sure you go there and create your own meet and greet. Yes, I did that.

– Panthers President Danny Morrison made it up to the cabanas to speak with fans and Roaring Riot owner Zack Luttrell to thank him and the Roaring Riot for “doing it the right way.” He loves that we’re supporting the team and remaining respectful to opposing teams.

– Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Thank you to Hydrate Medical for making sure we stayed hydrated.

– Honorary coach Braylon Beam is a dancing machine! And he does a pretty impressive cannonball, too. (Read more about Braylon here.) There were more $4,100 in donations to help his family with Braylon’s ongoing chemo treatments.

Braylon also got to meet two-time Olympic gold medalist Cullen Jones.

– When you travel with the Riot, it’s like being with your Panther Family away from home. I can’t tell you how many calls/texts I got from people saying how we were mentioned on TV because we were so loud. I mean LOUD.

I was down on the field before the game and all I could hear was “LET’S GO PANTHERS!”

Cam knew we were there. He said the noise played a huge role in the game. At the end of the game, he came to the corner of the field and he pointed to the cabana. Our work was done.

Great trip. We came. We conquered. We will be back.

Xo.
