You know how you have those moments in life where you’re like “did that really happen???”
This was one of those moments.
I had gone to see Turnpike Troubadours play & I was waiting outside of the Neighborhood Theatre after the show to meet lead singer Evan Felker. It was a week night and I figured this was my chance. I’d seen them play a few times and I had some questions. Questions about the music. Was Lorrie a real person? How do you hedge a bet?
WHAT.A.CONCERT!!! 💖 Last night The Underground at the Fillmore hosted LANCO, country radio's up and coming new face of country music.
LANCO, is an American country band consisting of Brandon Lancaster, Chandler Baldwin, Jared Hampton, Tripp Howell, and Eric Steedly. The band's name is short for Lancaster and Company. They have been together since 2015. They released their first single from the album, "Long Live Tonight", and another one of their songs, "Greatest Love Story", appears in the Netfl...
Chris Lane's new album Laps Around The Sun was released TODAY!
Have you guys had a chance to listen to it yet? I've been listening to it on Spotify; to me, it's very Kenny Chesney sounding. Not surprising; Lane is a huge Chesney fan. I saw the two of them perform at Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, SC last year. I love the CCMF - always a fun time with Bottlecap Group fam. Plus, you are in Myrtle Beach....the people watching is almost as good as a Nascar race.
This Sunday we are celebrating Moo & Brew's 2 year anniversary. My favorite wedding reception band Yacht Rock Revue is playing. There are still tickets left for just $15 so come out & lose your voice with us singing the best soft rock (think Toto, the Dan of Steel aka Steely Dan , Kenny Loggins, Hall & Oates, Fleetwood Mac and soooooo much more)
Tuesday night we headed North to NoDa to see The Brevet, but not before making some stops at our favorite watering hole.
We stopped by The Workman’s Friend over on Central to grab some snacks and of course, picklebacks. I have a love of Jameson whiskey and pickle juice. Speaking of, did you guys here that Sonic has a pickle slushy? I love pickles, but....
The Brevet are five guys based out of Orange County, California. I was introduced to them by my friend Lauren. She had recently seen them in Col...
Haven't been wasted in a long time
But tonight it feels just fine
Riding home with the windows up, alone with a plastic cup of real good wine
If I get out of this hole I'm going to Tupelo
There is a girl out there that will treat me fair
You get about a week of spring and the summer is blistering
There ain't no one from here that will follow me there
No, there ain't no one from here that will follow me there
She said there's nothing left to talk about
At my age I should've figured out
I try to go see Patrick every year when he rolls through Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s an awesome storyteller from Camden, South Carolina with an 11 piece band featuring horns & back up singers. He has worked alongside Jimmy Buffett, Guy Clark & Darius Rucker to name a few. We aren’t related, BUT his Aunt Jackie is my Aunt Jackie, and if you’ve met Aunt Jackie, she’s a whollllllotta fun!
I was living in Raleigh, NC in 1996. I had followed some loser guy up there from Charlotte. I hated almost everything about Raleigh & Chapel Hill, except the basketball & music scene. I was hopping around between the two college towns, taking classes here & there (to please the parents), but mostly seeing live shows. Live music is my therapy and where I am my happiest.
Ryan Adams grew up in the Marine-base town of Jacksonville, NC and is the middle of three children. His childhood is desc...
2017 was the year rock and roll took a huge hit. We said goodbye to Chuck Berry, David Bowie, Prince, Chris Cornell, Greg Allman and Tom Petty, just to name a few.
"If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'." -John Lennon
I’ve always been fascinated with Chuck and Tom. They were friends. They were both on my Bucket List to see. I had been watching the tour dates for Chuck because I knew he wasn't going to live forever; he was 91. He had...
